You’ve Got to be Kitten Me

Yes, I used a very corny line as the title for this one, but if you spend more than two hours with me, you know that this is normal!😂

Did anyone else know that it would take THREE months before anyone would even start rebuilding our condo building after this fire?! You're kidding me right?! I mean, I understand SOME demo needed to be done first, but that seems like a long time in my opinion. Who am I though but just a nobody. Oh, and thank goodness the 8 people whose units were NOT damaged will FINALLY be able to move back in to their uninterrupted homes and belongings. (I hope you sensed my sarcasm there🙄) It really irked me at our last HOA meeting how many of those folks were complaining about how long they have already been out of their homes and will continue to be. They will be out a total of 5 months, while the rest of us will be out for a year and the rest of us lost half to all of our belongings. Come at me when you have something better to complain about. Thanks.

In the meantime, Christmas obviously is looking different this year without our normal tree and without our fireplace and I was supposed to go easy on the gifts because we went to Disneyworld.... apparently I didn't understand the assignment. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Disneyworld was a blast!! I spent my birthday at the Magic Kingdom and the boys loved everything Harry Potter at Universal. Plus, we spent it with my mom, my sister and her kiddos! (And came home with more than enough souvenirs to be counted as Christmas gifts as well!)

Of course, when we got home, Disney wasn't enough of a Christmas present..... are you kidding me?.... we thought it would be fun to adopt not ONE, but TWO kittens! Alexa(aka Lex) and Mister(yes, his name is technically Mister Rogers if we do his last name. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂)

So here we are, doing this crazy season of life with 8 and 9 month old kittens, still very much missing our sweet Nala girl - who would've turned 3 this week - but having new babies definitely helps the sadness.

So, to sum it up, I completely overdid Christmas this year - maybe because I felt I needed to because my boys lost so much? Maybe I felt like I needed to because I lost so much and I'm still in this confused state of living. I'm not exactly sure. Either way, I don't regret any of it because my babies are only young once and my money can't come with me when I die. I'd rather spend it now on things that make me and my family happy and make memories for them than have anyone fight over it when I'm gone.

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and an amazing New Year! Stay tuned for some more frustrations in rebuilding and renting and also some #kittenmom stories coming your way soon.
