A mom, a business and a blog

I always wonder how a girl like me ended up running a business, a blog, and raising two babies all while working 40 hours a week. There's a million reasons why I thought I would fail at all this, but here's a few:

• I'm terrible at planning and my organization really lacks, but I manage with organized chaos.

• I'm not a small talker. Most business owners would promote their product with small talk everywhere they went. This makes me feel awkward.

• I don't work out regularly nor did I know there were so many different types of leggings prior to joining Zyia Active!

• I'm a great writer, but all of my thoughts prior to starting this blog were all negative. What if no one reads it? What if I get all kinds of negative feedback? What if I can't keep up with it all?

Once I got over myself and stopped thinking the absolute worst that could happen in all these scenarios, I embraced all that comes with keeping up with all the things I love doing! I was tired of the same old routine and everyday thing. It's such a wonderful feeling waking up and being excited about what I do even if it's not earth-shattering or life-changing.

Think about the last time you were doing something you truly enjoyed doing and getting rewarded for it. How recent was it? What made you start it? Are you still doing it? Why do you keep at it? Why did you stop it? Most of us jump from job to job and hobby to hobby because we can't find something we think we're good at or we tell ourselves we're failing. You're only failing if you quit all together. As long as you're doing something, you're making progress and that's the start of success, even if it's slow.

I have to tell myself that most days whenever I see my teammates killing it and I'm over here like, "well, I sold $1,000 this week, better luck next time." They aren't doing BETTER than me, they are just moving differently than me.

Your time will come when it's meant to come. Keep doing what you enjoy, the way you enjoy doing it. Promote you or your product the way you choose to promote and people and rewards will come to you.
